New: the phone secures itself
In many households the phones of husband and wife are also the monitor phones. With phone protection each of them gets its own alarm system and a route. You switch it on in the app with one button: “Protect this phone”. If the phone is later moved while unattended, stolen or snatched from your hand, it raises the alarm, and everyone in the household sees where it is heading.
Auto-arm
If the phone lies still with its screen off for a time you can set and has not moved from its spot, it arms itself. If someone then picks it up, you have a few seconds to unlock it. Unlocking disarms without a password, otherwise the siren sounds. For this the phone needs a screen lock.
Choose each trigger individually
Movement of the device, change of location via GPS, charging cable and covered lens can be switched separately, each with its own response: automatic, silent notification only or siren. So you can report lifting silently and answer a change of location with the siren.
Arm and disarm remotely
From the viewer or browser you can arm any phone in the household. Disarming requires signing in again: with password, Google or a four-digit PIN set beforehand.
Remote start, when it is too late
If phone protection was not running when the phone disappeared, remote start helps. It is off by default and can only be allowed on the phone itself, with a privacy notice and revocable at any time. After that, someone from the household can switch the protection on remotely. Every remote start is reported in the household, and the phone shows a notification.
Privacy
Only members of your household see the route. The protection is only switched on on the phone itself, and Android shows a notification for as long as it runs. Only switch it on for phones that belong to you or whose owner has agreed.
Limits
A phone that is switched off, in airplane mode or with an empty battery cannot be outsmarted. If the thief knows the PIN, auto-arm does not help; then arming remotely remains. Phone protection replaces neither the manufacturer's location service nor a report to the police.
