Accessories for the camera phone: holders, baby light, mini tripods
With the right accessories the camera phone sits stably, sees more in the dark and stays on power. What to look for in holders, baby lights and mini tripods.
A phone alone is not yet a camera. Only a holder, light and a safe spot make the setup fit for daily use. And most of it is cheap second-hand.
Holders and mounts
A holder must hold the phone firmly, even when cables pull on it. Good options are clamps with a joint for cot rails or shelves, wall mounts and gooseneck holders. Check that the clamp is big enough for your phone and that nothing wobbles. In the nursery: mount it out of the child's reach and route cables securely.
Baby light and night light
In low light every phone picture is noisy. A warm, dimmed night light nearby helps more than any post-processing. Used baby lights with a dimmer are often in good condition. Mini tripods and tripods
For shelves, windowsills and tables, mini tripods with flexible legs are suitable. They hold the phone at the right height and can be aimed. A tall tripod only makes sense if you want to set the camera up freely in the room. Take one with a stable phone clamp.
Power adapter and cable
The phone runs on the power adapter in continuous operation. A proper charger and a good cable belong to the setup. Only use power adapters in good condition and no unchecked no-name devices.
