Two children, two rooms, one account: using several cameras sensibly

With the second child it is not only the laundry that doubles but also the listening at night. Anyone with two nurseries needs either two baby monitors or a solution that shows several rooms on one device. VintageCam is built for that in the Complete plan: up to four cameras in one account, each with its own room name.

How to set it up

On each camera phone you choose the role “Camera” in the app and give a room name, for example “Mia” and “Jonas”. The server then creates a camera of its own for each room. In the viewer all rooms appear as tiles side by side, with picture, level and status for each camera. A tap on a tile opens the single view with live sound, video and talk-back for exactly that room.

Alerts per room

Each camera works on its own. If Mia cries, the room “Mia” reports, and the notification also says which room the alert comes from. Each camera has its own settings, because an infant in a bedside cot needs a different sensitivity from a three-year-old who talks in his sleep. Sleep analysis also runs per room, so you can compare the children's nights separately.

Two parents, one household

So that you can share the night watch, each of you gets your own account, and both belong to one household. You invite your partner via the invitation link on the account page; he taps the link, signs in and sees the same cameras, settings and recordings. Alerts arrive on both phones. Whoever is asleep mutes notifications with the mute button for 30 minutes up to 3 hours; the alerts still end up in the list.

What to keep in mind

Several cameras mean more data and more battery. Plan a fixed place at the charging cable for each camera phone. Wi-Fi should also arrive reliably in both rooms; an inexpensive repeater helps if a room is at the edge of range. And one more note on the plan: several cameras are only available in Complete, the smaller plans support one camera. In the first 14 days you can try everything, including four cameras at once.
