Alerts for noise and motion, with photo and video

The camera notifies you on its own when it hears crying or barking or sees movement, with photo, audio clip and short video. Adjustable, with sensible defaults.

You do not have to keep watching

The camera looks after things for you. If it detects a loud noise such as crying, barking or breaking glass, you get a notification on your phone right away, even when the app is closed. The notification includes a photo so you can see at a glance whether it is serious.

How the camera detects noise

The volume is measured continuously. Everything above the threshold counts as loud time, and an alert is sent as soon as that time is long enough, by default half a second. That way a child who catches their breath while crying still triggers it, while a single click does not. The camera sets the threshold itself during the first minutes after starting, matching the basic noise level of the room. If you like, you set sensitivity, minimum duration and pauses between alerts yourself.

What is stored with every alert

You get a still image and a short audio clip. With the Complete plan a short video is added, eight seconds by default. In the dark the camera can briefly switch on the flashlight so the photo shows something. In the alert list you page through the photos like a gallery, download them or delete them. At most the last 100 events and at most 30 days are kept.

Motion alert

With the Complete plan the camera can also watch for movement in the picture. The analysis happens on the phone itself, nothing is transmitted as long as nothing happens. The feature is off by default, and sensitivity ranges from 1 to 10.

Silence is a signal too

If the camera drops out because the power is disconnected or the internet is gone, VintageCam reports that as well. A camera that is too hot is also reported.

After the 14 trial days

Alerts and the last three recordings stay free even without a subscription. Still image, listening in and video depend on the plan.
