What is not stored

Live video, still image preview, sound and talk-back are only forwarded by the server while you are watching and are not recorded. Sleep analysis does not store pictures or sound either, only numbers. There are no tracking cookies and no analytics services. The only cookie keeps you signed in.

What is stored on an alert

When the camera triggers, an event, a short audio clip, a still image and, with the Complete plan, a short video are created. They can only be retrieved for your account and your household. At most the last 100 events and at most 30 days are kept, after which the server deletes them automatically. You can delete them yourself at any time.

Encrypted and in Germany

The service is operated and hosted in Germany. Alert sound, pictures and videos are encrypted on disk (AES-256-GCM), with the key kept separate from data and backups. A stolen disk or backup copy contains no readable recordings. It is not end-to-end encryption: to display a recording, the server decrypts it.

Protection against foreign hands

Disarming and deleting an armed system require signing in again with password, Google or a four-digit PIN set beforehand. The PIN is only stored as a salted hash and is temporarily locked after several failed attempts. You sign in with email and password or with Google.

Your rights

You can request a data access report and a data export and delete your account yourself. With the account, recordings, tracks and sessions disappear. The privacy policy explains everything in detail, including the legal bases.

Responsibility when filming

A camera in the house also affects other people. Talk to everyone who is regularly there, and do not film into the bathroom or into guests' rooms. The blog articles on video surveillance and sound explain what applies in Germany.
