A market for exactly these things
The marketplace is about used phones that are good enough as a camera and about the accessories they need: holders and mounts, baby light and night light, mini tripods and tripods. Nothing more. That keeps the selection manageable, and anyone searching does not have to dig through furniture and car tyres.
Browsing works without an account, the listings are publicly readable. Anyone who wants to write, buy or sell signs in.
The “VintageCam tested” badge
If a seller has checked exactly this model with the VintageCam test and the test has been approved, the listing shows the badge. It also says in which role the phone was tested and how many checks passed. The badge is a label, not an obligation: you can list without a test too.
Your name, your photo
As buyer and seller you appear under a display name that you choose yourself, optionally with a profile photo and short description. Others never see your email address or your account. Photos are stripped of extra data such as the location they were taken when uploaded.
Messages and reviews
Interested people write to you in VintageCam, not by phone or email. New messages arrive as push if you have allowed notifications. After a sale, buyer and seller rate each other with one to five stars. The reviews are publicly attached to the profile.
You arrange payment and shipping yourselves
VintageCam only brokers the listing. I do not accept any money and I am not a party to the contract. Tips for safe handovers are in the rules.
Review and reports
I check the first listing of a new seller by hand. After that, listings go online immediately. Every listing and every profile can be reported; with several reports a listing disappears until it has been reviewed.
